Did you know that 83 craft breweries opened in Washington last year? It is more than any other state. Starting May 7th Seattle will have its 7th annual Seattle Beer Week. It will take place in over 50 plus spots all over town, including Pike Brewery, Elysian Brewery, Beer Can Derby to name a few. One of the special events of the week will be on May 11th at the Pike Brewery. It is Women in beer. For Centuries woman were Principle Brewers and were responsible for introducing hops to the malt brew. There will be 40 different breweries featured along with restaurants, chocolatiers and much more. This will be a benefit for Planned Parenthood. Last year this event drew over 300 people.
